Three Weddings and a Decision.

I have three wedding invitations on February 1 which I have not RSVP yet. To be honest, I don't really like weddings, I mean weddings are beautiful, but I don't really like attending them. However, when it comes to friends, I feel the obligation to do so, I myself would want to be at their big day despite my presence has no impact on the event itself. I have missed lots of my friend's weddings especially those from school, most of them are married now. Since most of the ceremonies were held in Terengganu, which where I went to school, I don't have the opportunity to attend them since I'm staying in KL. I can actually count on how many of my schoolmates' weddings I have attended though they were already countless invitations.

So this February greets me with another three weddings, two of them are my schoolmates and another one is a friend from my university. At first I couldn't attend to any of the weddings because I was supposed to involve with the Federal Territory Day's Celebration at Putrajaya on February 2 and the rehearsal will be done on February 1. But now that it is cancelled, I'll be available on the date so I have to decide on which of the weddings should I go. Assuming that I'll be in KL around that date, all the weddings are pretty far to attend but if I were to choose the one in Johore, I can only make it to a wedding but if I go to Dungun, I can kill two birds with one stone.

Well I'm gonna start with the first one which is Syafiq & Amalina, this is the groom's side of ceremony or better known as Majlis Sambut Menantu. I didn't go for their first ceremony because it was held in Kelantan plus the friend of mine is the groom not the bride so I guess it's better to attend on my friend's side instead of his wife's. Still the upcoming event is nowhere around KL, it's going to be held in Batu Pahat but looking at the bright side, I think it would be a great opportunity for a trip with my SilkySiblings (they are all friends with Syafiq since we all studied in the same uni) since it's during public holdiay (CNY + Federal Territory Day).

The second one is Ain & Azrihan's wedding, both of them were my schoolmates, yeah there are quite a number of my schoolmates who married each other actually. Like seriously it has been ten years yet you are marrying one of your schoolmates. I'm not saying like it's a bad thing, I am actually fascinated by it. They were not couples during school and it's kinda surprising how they ended up together but it's good for them they've found each other. I'm not that close to Azrihan but Ain and I went to the same matriculation and we used to play volleyball together. Also Ain and I were in the school band/orchestra and we were classmates during the upper form.

Next is Taufik & Fatihah, and Fatihah is the one who is my friend, I hardly know her fiance. Similar to Ain, Fatihah was also in the school band/orchestra, in fact they were both trumpeters. Of many schoolmates I have, Fatihah is one that I still keep in touch with, rarely but we text each other once in a while. I really want to go to her wedding but at this very moment it is more likely that I'll be going to Syafiq's, in hope that I can attend the groom's side of ceremony of Taufik and Fatihah's wedding which she told me are going to be held in KL but is yet to decide on the date since her fiance will be busy with courses after the wedding in Dungun.

The last one is Farhan & Naimah who both were my classmates in UiTM. Farhan or Paan was not only a classmate to me but he was also my roommate for five semesters, we rented a room and shared it after the first semester ended. Having said that, he has helped me a lot as a roommate cum classmate especially when I was transport-less, he would send me around with his motorcycle. Despite the fact that Naimah is also my friend, I'm thinking of going to Paan's side since his house is in Bentong which is nearer to KL. I already missed one of my classmate's wedding, I surely don't wanna miss this one too since there were only four boys in my class.

It looks like I have a decision to be made though I already decided secretly in my head. It's pretty obvious that I already made a decision right, it's just probably not a final one yet. After all, it is all only a plan, the time will come eventually and it not impossible that I won't be attending any of those three weddings because you never know what's gonna happen. As for now, I'm going to RSVP the invitations; Join, decline and decline. Anyway, I hope all the weddings are going to go well and they all will have a blessed married life, loving each other till the end of time.

Yup, you read that right, UPSR, and it's out today. Hohoho Horlicks, I got 5As myself but that was.. Can you do the math for me? Wait.. Erm.. Aha! That was 11 years ago. So this UPSR thing made me remember my glorious days in primary school. Fine, glorious isn't really a perfect adjective to describe how it was then but I was really a genius boy. No, this is not one of the entry that I will proudly tell about myself being genius, as I said, I WAS a genius, so don't make a big deal out of it. Perhaps smart would be a better word than genius, genius is a bit hyperbole right.

Shamelessly, let me tell you the story of this smart boy. He went to school at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kemasik, and every year from standard 1 to standard 6, he ranked 1st in the school for each examination, except for a couple of time he ranked 2nd where Abu Zarim would had the opportunity to be first. He did passed the PTS examination in standard 3 but since he's the only one who had passed it in that school and it was the first year PTS was introduced, he chose not to skip standard 4. Actually he couldn't remember not choosing the fast track, but considering the fact that it was experimental at that time, he might had made the right decision to go one step at a time.

His brilliante didn't end there, he passed every examination with 5As and unsurprisingly during the trial examination for UPSR, he was the only candidate to score all As. It was most probably due to the lack of competition from other students. When the UPSR result was announced in 1999, he and his three classmates was the only four in his school to get straight As. He was offered to continue his study in Sekolah Menengah Sains Sultan Mahmud or rather known as SESMA. It was nothing big, not because of he wasn't proud of SESMA, it's because his two sisters were already studied there, and also his two cousins. That's the end of the story about a young good-looking boy.

How was it? So not humble kind of entry right, I'm not trying to show off anyway. I believe that it is better to start moderately and going up towards the end, but in my case it is the other way around. I did great in primary school, OK in secondary school, suck in matriculation and totally screwed in university. Luckily I have this chance right now to restart my engine and trying my best to keep it on track. Just last night I came across the Abu Zarim I told in the story, he's jobless now but he had graduated, yet me, I've just finished my first year in UiTM and still have a long way to go. Before I end this entry, let me get one thing straight, I'm not a nerd when I was a kid, I was kinda popular and I always late to school. Thought of scanning my result and paste it here but my certs are all in Shah Alam. ;P

SESMA: Enam Tahun Sudah

Sedar tak sedar dah hampir enam tahun tinggalkan zaman persekolahan, dah enam tahun tinggalkan gelaran budak sekolah, enam tahun juga tak pakai pakaian sekolah.

Aku time sekolah dulu bukan top student, tak popular secara akademik. Kalau yang famous sebab kes-kes tertentu pun aku tak tergolong, aku bukan budak nakal. Pada aku tak best pun jadi budak baik, kalau ada inspection dari bilik ke bilik, loker aku mesti warden check ala qadar je, buat macam cukup syarat. Bajet aku baik sangat ke? Manalah tau aku dealer rokok kat asrama ke? Simpan magazine porno ke? Boleh tak aku nak emo pasal ni? Tapi yang best part jadi budak baik bila lewat pergi prep, kalau warden tunggu kat tangga nak rotan, muka-muka baik ni warden rotan manja aje. Tapi sebaik-baik aku pun ada je aku merokok, fly, panjat tangki air semua tu.

Aku kat SESMA aktif dengan brass band, wind orchestra, PRS dan sidang redaksi SAINTIS (majalah tahunan sekolah). Brass band dengan orkesrta memang hidup aku kat SESMA dulu, every year mesti join pertandingan pancaragam peringkat negeri, perbarisan hari kemerdekaan dan pertandingan wind orchestra SBP. Aku dulu main euphonium, kalau untuk orkestra ok lagi lah, kalau yang kawad memang azab jugak nak usung euphonium tu sambil main lagu. Wind orchestra SBP memang acara tahunan yang ditunggu-tunggu, aku enjoy sangat dapat join pertandingan ni walaupun tak pernah menang sebab dapat pergi SBP lain.

Aku memang tak ada kepimpinan nak jadi pengawas sekolah, pengawas library pun tak tapi aku salah seorang ahli Power Rangers Sekolah (PRS). Aku ranger putih, takkan ranger pink pakai skirt pulak kan. Aku sebenarnya diri sendiri pun tak terbimbing nak jadi pembimbing rakan sebaya pulak kan. Jadi sidang redaksi SAINTIS pun best jugak, kalau ada event macam hari sukan aku sibuk dengan kamera kat tangan, snap gambar sana-sini. Selalu jugak lepak kat bilik komputer nak siapkan bahan untuk majalah. Aku dah biasa kena perli kalau masuk kelas lambat sebab handle sesi fotografi, tahankan aje sindiran cikgu-cikgi semua.

Aku cakap pasal aktiviti aje kan, patut cakap pasal sekolah mesti ada cakap pasal bab belajar. Aku kat SESMA student corot je, tak ada nak score straight As time ujian. Mesti graf tahun tu rendah agaknya.

Actually kalau nak cakap pasal SESMA memang berjela-jela aku boleh tulis. Yelah, kenangan lima tahun kat sana, macam-maca cerita ada. Tapi time kat SESMA memang tak ramai yang kenal Daoz tau Firdaoz sebab semua panggil aku Chiko.
